Can I install the shutters myself?
Yes, of course. However, we highly recommend utilizing our experienced installation team for the best results when installing custom shutters.
Can shutters be installed on any window?
Our shutters are designed to be installed on a wide range of windows, including French doors, sliding patio doors, and even as room dividers with tracks. If your window or door opens inward, the shutters can be mounted outside of the reveal. For situations where there are overhangs preventing the panels from swinging out, we offer bi-pass tracking, allowing the shutters to slide past each other.
How do I measure my windows and doors?
Simple measure the width and height of the opening and contact us via phone or email with these measurements or fill out the form above.
How many shutter panels do I need in my window opening?
The number of panels needed for your window opening depends on various factors. Generally, a window looks best with four panels, two of which open as pairs in either direction. For a three-window bay, two panels are typically used on the smaller side windows, and four panels in the center. However, each window is unique, and our team can provide personalized advice on what configuration will work best for your specific situation.
What louvre size should I choose?
When selecting the louvre size for your shutters, consider the size of your window and the desired effect. Larger windows typically work well with larger louvre sizes.
How long does it take to receive my shutters after ordering?
Our shutters are custom manufactured to fit your specific openings. Typically, they are ready for installation approximately 10-12 weeks from the date of the order and receipt of the deposit.
Does wood warp, shrink, change color, or age in any way?
Wood is a natural material and, as such, it can warp, shrink, change color, and age over time. However, our shutters are designed to minimize these effects. They feature reinforced, engineered stiles with multiple layers of wood bonded together to ensure maximum stability and durability.
What colors and stains are available?
We offer a wide range of painted finishes and stains for our shutters. Please refer to the colors section of our website for a full list of available options for each shutter range.
How can I maintain my shutters?
Maintaining shutters is relatively easy. You can clean them using a feather duster, a damp sponge or soft cloth, or by running a vacuum cleaner over them. Our shutters are designed to be low maintenance, and the finishes should not need repainting for many years. Our Seattle MDF shutters, in particular, are totally maintenance-free and cannot be repainted.
